It is with deep sadness and sorrow that we received the information of the passing of
Prof. Zbigniew Pilarczyk
He served as Vice-Rector of our University from 2008 to 2016. From 2002 to 2008, he was Vice-Dean for Teaching at the Faculty of History. He headed the Department of Military History and served as a scout. In 2005, he was honoured with the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta, and in 2025 with the Officer's Cross.
He was a man of great kindness and sympathy, full of cheerfulness and energy.
