AMU ranked 4th in Poland (among 26 universities included) in the QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2026. In terms of global assessment of universities' commitment to sustainable development, AMU ranked 455th among 2,002 institutions worldwide. This year's edition of the ranking included over 250 more universities than last year.
The university recorded significant rises in two spheres:
- Environmental Sustainability (within the Environmental Impact category) – moving up 102 places,
- Governance – a notable jump of 461 places.The result in the Governance category, concerning the quality of university management, deserves particular emphasis due to its scale and importance.
At the top of this year's ranking were: Lund University (Sweden), the University of Toronto (Canada), and University College London (United Kingdom). In Poland, AMU ranked behind Jagiellonian University (271st), University of Warsaw (286th), and University of Gdańsk (363rd). The rise by one position in the national ranking, accompanied by an increase in the number of Polish universities in the ranking from 22 to 26, confirms the stability of AMU's position in the sustainability domain.
