From 19 to 25 February, a winter school on 'Across disciplines: How to study in an interdisciplinary framework', prepared by the Interdisciplinary Individual Studies in the Humanities and Social Sciences, was held as part of the project 'AMU and EPICUR for the academic community of Ukraine', co-financed by the NAWA programme: 'Solidarity with Ukraine - European Universities'. The participants of the school were students, PhD students and lecturers from eight Ukrainian partner Universities of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań:
- Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University;
- Donbass State Pedagogical University;
- Hryhorii Skovoroda University in Pereiaslav;
- Kherson State University;
- Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University;
- Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute;
- V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University;
- H.S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University.
Courses at the Dębina Palace were conducted by lecturers from the Interdisciplinary Individual Studies in the Humanities and Social Sciences (Prof. Rafał Dymczyk, Prof. Aleksander W. Mikołajczak, Prof. Konrad Dominas), Liberal Art. and Sciences (Prof. Łukasz Różycki), the Centre for Advanced Technologies (Prof. Jakub Rybka) and Dr Kostiantyn Mazur, representing our International Relations Centre.
During the lectures and workshops, students and PhD students not only had the opportunity to get an answer to the question of what interdisciplinarity in research is all about but also to learn more about several such projects carried out at UAM.
On their visit to the Faculty of Polish and Classical Philology, our guests from Ukraine dressed in their national costumes to mark the opening of the exhibition "Ukraine 2022-2023", arousing keen interest among the visitors.
For this very reason, the coordinator of the school on the Ukrainian side and the school's lecturer, the director of the Polish Cultural and Educational Centre of the Pavel Tyczyn State Pedagogical University in Humansk, Prof. Ihor Kryvosheia, was unable to leave his country and come to Poland.
In addition to participating in specially prepared didactic sessions, a lot of time was dedicated to answering questions from Ukrainian partners concerning the possibilities of studying at our University and cooperation in terms of increasing mobility. A presentation on the EPICUR consortium and the potential opportunity to attend lectures conducted remotely was met with great interest.
We hope that the knowledge gained will be practical in further developing the interdisciplinary research of all winter school participants.
