- “Science and the economy, Poznań’s two great traditions, can now engage with one another more loudly, more frequently and with greater benefit to both sides,” said Prof. Piotr Pawluć, Vice-Rector for Human Resources and Doctoral Schools at Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań, as he opened the European Science Fair 2026. The event, which serves as a platform for presenting research achievements, ready-to-implement technologies and initiatives developed at the interface of science and business, is held at the Poznań International Fair.
The inaugural lecture of the European Science Fair, entitled “Dlaczego kłamstwa wygrywają z faktami? Arkana dezinformacji internetowej (Eng. Why do lies beat facts? The arcane secrets of online disinformation)”, was delivered by Prof. Dariusz Jemielniak, one of Poland’s leading researchers on disinformation and online communities.
The ETN inauguration was attended by guests, including Monika Rzepka – Deputy Director of the Minister’s Office at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, who delivered a letter from Minister Marcin Kulasek, as well as Jarosław Maciejewski – Deputy Governor of the Wielkopolska Province, Katarzyna Kretkowska – a member of the Wielkopolska Province Board of Region, Elżbieta Nawrocka – a member of the Poznań Powiat Executive Board, and Robert Wielicki – President of the Management Board of the MTP Group.
The hosts entrusted the official opening ceremony to the Unitree G1 humanoid robot in its Edu version, named Adam, assisted in this responsible task by the AMU spokesperson, Małgorzata Rybczyńska.
The fair is organised by Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań, and the MTP Group, with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The European Science Fair, being held in parallel with ITM Industry Europe, will run until 29 May.
