TIAMSA 2025 conference at the AMU Faculty of Law and Administration

the annual TIAMSA 2025 (The International Art Market Studies Association) conference

On 4-5 July 2025, the annual TIAMSA 2025 (The International Art Market Studies Association) conference - "Art Market - beyond 2030” - was held at the AMU Faculty of Law and Administration.

The event was organised by the AMU Faculty of Law and Administration in cooperation with the UNITWIN team "Culture in Emergencies" (Prof. Alicja Jagielska-Burduk and Prof. Wojciech Szafrański, working within the UNITWIN UNESCO Chairs and Networks programme).

The conference brought together numerous representatives of the scientific community (from over twenty different universities from Europe and the USA, art market practitioners, experts in the legal, economic, art history and cultural management disciplines, and representatives of cultural institutions and the self-government of councils. It provided an excellent opportunity to reflect on the art market condition and to present interdisciplinary research conducted by TIAMSA members on both the art valuation mechanisms and the role of artificial intelligence and new technologies.

As part of the TIAMSA Legal section, a panel on Art Law issues was organised with Til Vere Hodge and Katalin Andreides. Alicja Jagielska-Burduk. The panel focused on current regulatory challenges and legal instruments against the illegal art trade.

The conference was formally opened by Professor Tomasz Nieborak - AMU Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration, Professor Kim Oosterlinck (Université Libre de Bruxelles) - President of TIAMSA, Attorney at Law Michał Rościszewski - Vice Dean of the Regional Council of the Bydgoszcz Chamber of Legal Advisers, and Attorney at Law Marta Kuligowska - representative of the Regional Council of the Poznań Chamber of Legal Advisers and the Foreign Commission of the National Council of Legal Advisers. The event was also attended by Zbigniew Tur - Secretary of the National Council of Legal Advisers, representing the Praesidium of the National Chamber of Legal Advisers.

The event's partners were the Regional Chamber of Legal Advisers in Poznan and the Regional Chamber of Legal Advisers in Bydgoszcz.
