Yesterday, 12 January 2026, we hosted a visit from Changwon National University (CWNU), our partner university in Korea, including:
· Taeshik Kim, Dean, Office of International Affairs
· Young Chan Kim, Vice Dean, Office of International Affairs;
· Sung Hwan Lee, Head, Glocal Cooperation Centre;
· Sung Ho Im, Director, Europe Office.
Together with the Vice-Dean of the AMU Faculty of Ethnolinguistics for Organisation and International Cooperation, Dr Daniel Dzienisiewicz, and Dr Anna Borowiak (Head of the Department of Korean Language Studies and the King Sejong Institute), we welcomed them at the AMU Welcome Centre.
Following a presentation on AMU, we discussed student exchange, as one AMU student will be going to CWNU next semester. In comparison, one CWNU student will arrive at AMU.
The guests highlighted the need to increase the number of AMU students interested in opportunities by not only providing academic exchange but also by involving them in the Global Coordinator programme, which offers practical experience.
After a memorable photo session in the Rector's Office, the guests proceeded to the AMU Faculty of Ethnolinguistics to meet the Dean, Prof. Piotr Nowak, and staff members of the Department of Korean Studies. The meeting provided a valuable platform for further discussions on cooperation, introducing Korean philology and student research groups, and promoting the annual Korean Culture Day, an event that showcases the beauty of Korean culture.
