Chinese New Year's Eve Concert

Together with the AMU Confucius Institute, we invite you to enter the New Year of the Water Rabbit with us to the accompaniment of Chinese music for piano and cello. The programme features film music from the Oscar-winning "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", arrangements of the most beautiful Chinese melodies, Chinese-inspired songs and compositions created by Chinese artists.

Authors of arrangements and compositions to be heard include Wáng Jiànzhōng, Shī Wànchūn, Alexander Cherypnin, Tan Dun, and Bright Sheng.
The Lepos Duo, i.e. Yang Xu-Czaja (piano) and Jan Czaja (cello) will perform. They are laureates of the 18th Padua International Music Competition in the chamber music category. As soloists, they have performed with the Poznań Philharmonic, the Świętokrzyska Philharmonic, the Opole Philharmonic, the Lower Silesian Philharmonic, the Sinfonietta Polonia Orchestra and the Orchestra of the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań. They were educated at the University of the Arts in Berlin and the Royal Academy of Music in London. Currently, Yang is a lecturer, and Jan is a doctoral student at the Poznan Academy of Music.

This year's Chinese New Year celebrations will take place on Sunday 22 January 2023, in the Lubanski Hall of the Collegium Minus building.(Wieniawskiego 1, Poznan).

The concert will begin at 18:30.
Admission to the entire event is free.
