We would like to extend a cordial invitation to you to participate in the Polish Association for American Studies Conference (PAAS 2023), organized by the Department of American Studies and the Department of Studies in Culture. The conference will take place from October 25th to 27th at the Collegium Heliodori within the Faculty of English.
The conference theme revolves around "America and Deep Time: Alternate Geographies, Histories, and Temporalities." The papers and keynote lectures will explore American topics from perspectives that portray the U.S.A. as a "planetary entity" (as articulated by Spivak), interwoven into a vast and intricate network of events and processes, often surpassing America's influence, imaginative scope, or comprehension.
