The Faculty of Polish and Classical Philology cordially invite you to the workshop "Political Novel in Europe and Migration/Exile" workshop at their Faculty and Migrant Info Point on 23 and 24 May this year.
The workshop aims to explore the presence of the issue of (e)migration in the political novel in Europe and to answer the question of how the novel portrays its causes and effects (geopolitical, social, identity, etc.) and depicts the phenomena of various types of exclusion in the context of democracy and authoritarianism. The subject of literary and interdisciplinary analysis shall be novels dealing with (e)migration (for economic, political, military, and climatic reasons), exile, refugee trauma (caused by war), and statelessness.
The event is organised by Prof. Tomasz Mizerkiewicz's team as part of the project 'The Cartography of Political Novel in Europe' (CAPONEU), funded by the European Union's Horizon Europe Framework Programme.
The full schedule can be found here.
On the first day, we welcome you to the Mickiewicz Salon under the Dome of the Collegium Maius and, on the next day, to the Migrant Info Point in Poznań at Al. Marcinkowskiego 11. You can also follow the event remotely via live streaming (links below):
