At the Faculty of English AMU, we believe that language is not only a tool for communication, but also a force for social change. Our teaching, research, and community engagement initiatives reflect a deep commitment to using language to foster inclusion, understanding, and professional excellence across diverse areas of public life. Under the theme Communication for Society, the initiatives presented here exemplify how academic expertise in language and communication can contribute meaningfully to equality, healthcare, and intercultural dialogue.

Language of Empowerment: International Week for Equality and Inclusion

The "Language of Empowerment" is an annual series of seminars that promotes equality, inclusion, and awareness of discrimination. This initiative encourages dialogue and reflection through open lectures in both Polish and English. It aims to empower students, academic staff, and the general public by highlighting the social role of language in promoting diversity and acceptance. The event aligns with ongoing research at the Faculty in areas such as language, identity, intercultural communication, and the social dimensions of language, contributing to the creation of a more open and inclusive society.
