Drogie Studentki i Drodzy Studenci!
Jutro rozpoczynamy zajęcia dydaktyczne, w większości w formie zdalnej. To jedyna możliwa decyzja w sytuacji, gdy pobity został kolejny smutny rekord liczby zakażeń. W sobotę Poznań prawdopodobnie znajdzie się w tzw. czerwonej strefie. Pracownicy służby zdrowia z wielką ofiarnością walczą z epidemią, ale ich możliwości są ograniczone – Polska była przygotowana na zakażenia na poziomie 2 tysięcy dziennie.
Wszyscy czujemy niepokój, wszyscy czujemy się bezradni. Niemal codziennie dowiadujemy się o zakażeniu koleżanki, przyjaciela, kogoś z rodziny, sąsiada – także na Uniwersytecie co dzień pojawiają się nowe przypadki. Reagujemy na nie błyskawicznie: delegując wybranych pracowników do pracy zdalnej, zamykając poszczególne jednostki i biura. Oczywiście, wszystkim nam utrudnia to pracę i naukę, podobnie jak cały szereg zaleceń i restrykcji, wprowadzanych w komunikacie Rektora [tutaj należy kliknąć, aby przejść do komunikatu] (postanowiłam przedłużyć ich obowiązywanie do końca października). Pracowników administracji proszę także o przestrzeganie obostrzeń wynikających z komunikatu Kanclerza z dnia 28 września br. Wszystkie te działania to kwestia naszej odpowiedzialności za siebie i innych.
Niewiele możemy zrobić w walce z wirusem, ale jednak coś możemy: nośmy maseczki, zachowujmy dystans dwóch metrów, dezynfekujmy ręce. Informujmy administrację budynków o naszej obecności – w trosce o to, byśmy jak najszybciej mogli przekazywać Państwu informację o ewentualnym zagrożeniu. Ograniczajmy spotkania, także te towarzyskie. Stosowanie tych zaleceń jest jedyną powszechnie dostępną bronią w walce z koronawirusem, a równocześnie wyrazem troski o innych.
Dziś Dzień Edukacji Narodowej, Dzień Nauczyciela – nasze wspólne święto. Przebiega ono nie tylko w cieniu pandemii, ale i niepokoju o przyszłość polskiej nauki i edukacji. Obawiamy się nie tylko o skutki zmian strukturalnych, ale także o zachowanie podstawowych wartości: autonomii uczelni, wolności nauki, poszanowania praw człowieka, edukacji wolnej od ideologii, tolerancji dla mniejszości. To wartości cenne dla naszej społeczności.
Życzę wszystkim Państwu zdrowia, siły, wytrwałości i niegasnącej nadziei. Dbajmy o siebie wzajemnie, bo w trudnych czasach wzajemna życzliwość, pomoc i uśmiech – nawet spod maseczki – mają wartość nie do przecenienia.

Dear AMU Employees and Students!
Tomorrow we start teaching classes, mostly using remote and online tools. This proves to be the only viable decision while COVID-related infection rates have broken new records.
We expect Poznan to find itself in the so-called “red zone” no later than this coming Saturday. Health care workers are fighting the epidemic with great dedication, but their possibilities are limited as Poland was prepared to fight around 2 thousand infections a day.
We may all feel anxiety, we may all feel helpless. Almost every day we find out about a colleague, friend, family member or neighbor who got infected - also at the University new cases appear every day. We react immediately: by delegating selected employees to remote work, by closing down individual units and offices. Of course, this makes it difficult for all of us to work and study. So does the entire series of recommendations and restrictions, introduced in the Rector's announcement [click here to go to the announcement] which I decided to extend until the end of October.
I also ask the administrative employees to observe the restrictions resulting from the Chancellor's announcement of September 28th. This is a matter of being responsible for ourselves and for others.
There is not much we can do to fight the virus, but there is something we should do: always wear masks, keep a distance of two meters, disinfect and clean our hands. Let us keep the building administration informed of our presence every time we come in - so that we can inform you in return about the potential threat as soon as possible. Let u s limit our meetings, including the social ones. Applying these recommendations is the only commonly available weapon in the fight against the coronavirus, and at the same time an expression of concern for others.
Today is the National Education Day, the Teachers Day – which we all celebrate. It takes place not only in the shadow of a pandemic, but also in the shadow of concerns about the future of Polish science and education. We are worried about the effects of structural changes, but also about the preservation of fundamental values: autonomy of the university, freedom of science, respect for human rights, education free from ideology, tolerance for minorities. These values are valuable for our community.
I wish all of you health, strength, perseverance and unfading hope. Let us take care of each other, because in these difficult times, mutual kindness, help and a smile - even if from under a mask – all have value which can never be overestimated.
